Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

To give you an account and save your work, Meridary stores your account email, the Current Finances profile you enter (birth years, balances, wages, and the year those figures were true), and the assumptions and future-income choices in your plans. That is the data you choose to type in. Meridary does not ask for account numbers, and never sees them.

If you use a free calculator from the United States, we may store a short-lived, opaque browser identifier and a 24-hour continuation record that names only the calculator you used and a broad result category (for example, that an RMD is not required yet). That record never includes the numbers you typed, the exact dollar result, your age, filing status, household size, balances, or income. It expires after 24 hours or when you choose Start fresh. Visitors outside the United States do not receive this continuation cookie.

If you build a personal snapshot before purchase, the household and financial figures you enter are stored only in the current browser tab for up to 24 hours so you can move between steps and return from checkout. They are not sent to our servers or included in analytics, advertising, or Stripe metadata before you have access. After your purchase is confirmed, the browser sends the snapshot to create your Current Finances profile and first plan; it then removes the local copy. Choosing Start fresh or signing out removes it sooner.

2. No bank aggregation

Meridary does not link to your bank, brokerage, or any outside account. There are no credentials to hand over and no third-party aggregation service. You enter what you choose, and your plan is yours.

3. Where your plan is computed

When you open a plan, the projection and Monte Carlo simulation run locally in your browser, on your own device. Your plan is saved to your account so you can return to it, but the modeling you work with (every figure that moves as you change an input) happens on your machine and is not sent to us.

One thing runs on our servers, and it is worth naming precisely. The signed-in home shows a summary figure for each plan you own, a peak net worth, a first shortfall age, a success probability. Those are computed on our servers, from Current Finances and the plan inputs you already saved there, so the page can show you a number without opening each plan first. It uses the same engine and the same data you entered; it collects nothing additional, and the results are recomputed on each visit rather than stored.

4. We do not sell your data

Meridary does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or plan data to anyone. We have no interest in monetizing your financial details; you paid for the tool once, and that is the business model. Separately, we may buy advertising on services such as Reddit and Google so strangers can find the product. Those ads measure and retarget site visits and purchases. They do not sell your plan inputs, balances, or projections to anyone.

5. Service providers

A few providers process data on our behalf so the product can function: Vercel hosts the site and, through Speed Insights, measures anonymous page-performance timings; Neon stores your account, Current Finances profile, and plan data; Stripe handles payments (we never see your card number); Better Auth manages sign-in and sessions; Resend delivers transactional email such as password resets; and PostHog provides product analytics. PostHog records pageviews, clicks, errors, and product events, such as when a plan is created, opened, or shown as out of date, under your account so we can find and fix problems. Those events record that something happened, not your financial figures. Calculator continuation events follow the same rule: they may name the calculator family and result category, never the exact inputs or outputs. To understand which public pages lead to a purchase, we may store the path of your first public marketing page and a broad channel such as organic search or referral for up to 90 days, and copy those two fields to Stripe Checkout metadata. Query strings and calculator values are excluded. Session recordings mask the contents of every form field and exclude the signed-in planning pages, so neither the numbers you type nor the projections derived from them are captured.

When Reddit advertising is enabled, Reddit receives conversion and visit signals from a browser pixel on marketing pages and from a server-side Conversions API connection. That can include a Reddit click id, a hashed email and account id, IP address, user agent, page URL on the marketing site, and purchase value/currency. To attribute a purchase after Stripe Checkout (where the browser is no longer on our site), we may briefly store the Reddit click id, IP address, and user agent on the Stripe Checkout Session metadata so the payment webhook can complete that conversion signal. After the webhook queues the signal (or skips it), those three fields are deleted from the session metadata. We do not send plan balances, ages, income figures, or projection outputs to Reddit. The pixel is not loaded on the demo where a personal snapshot can be entered or on signed-in planning pages.

When Google advertising is enabled, Google receives a browser tag on public marketing pages and a purchase conversion only after we verify the returning Stripe Checkout session belongs to the signed-in buyer. Those signals can include a Google click id, marketing page path, purchase value and currency, and a transaction id used to prevent duplicate counting. We may store Google click ids and campaign parameters in first-party cookies for attribution and copy them to Stripe Checkout metadata so a completed purchase can be tied back to its campaign. We do not send plan balances, ages, income figures, or projection outputs to Google. The Google tag is not loaded on the demo, authentication pages, or signed-in planning pages.

6. Your data

You can delete your plans at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and its data by contacting us. We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
